Licensing, Regulation and Alcohol Strategy
Mission
Licensing, Regulations and Alcohol Strategy (LRAS) aims to effectively administer legislation and develop policy that minimises harm related to gambling, liquor, tobacco, private security and escorts. The division also aims to build best practices in community associations and licenced businesses.
Service Charter
To ensure quality service delivery, LRAS has developed standards for client interaction, the Service Charter provides the basis for obtaining key performance measures and helps fulfil qualitative reporting requirements.
LRAS provides enforcement support for the Northern Territory Licensing Commission.
LRAS manages all licensing matters and the daily enforcement of relevant legislation, including:
- audit and compliance checks;
- assessment of licence applications;
- complaint and dispute handling; and
- monitoring the technical quality of gambling systems.
